Frequently Asked Questions

About My Services

I try to arrive between 45 minutes to an hour before your start time. This gives me time to set up my piano if there is not one on site and to warm up. I like to have plenty of time to run through the ceremony songs, especially if the venue has their own piano since every piano is unique!

I have a portable set up including my digital piano, the stand and bench, and an external speaker that allows me to play at any venue. I also have a baby grand piano shell (which you can find featured on the home page) that adds another touch of elegance.

The piano shell is 58" wide and 39" deep. I generally request a 6 ft x 6 ft space for my piano, my piano bench and my speaker. If space is a concern, let me know and I can bring my smaller piano stand.

I'm happy to play outside if the weather allows! I request that there is a contingency plan in case of rain (i.e. moving inside, positioning the piano under a covered area).

Because my piano is digital, I typically require access to an outlet. However, if this will not be possible, I have a battery pack that I can bring.

I do my best to fit in with the dress code of the event. I tend to wear floral dresses in the spring and summer and more jewel tones in the fall and winter. You'll also frequently find me in an all black ensemble, especially if I'm unsure of how formal the event will be.

About My Music

For ceremonies, I created the Wedding Song Selection Form to help walk you through the music needed for the ceremony.

For cocktail hours and receptions, it's up to you how involved you want to be in selecting the songs. You can select specific songs you'd like included and I can build around that "theme". Or you can select genres that you like and I can pull from my repertoire.

Yes! I love to learn new songs and find unique arrangements. I have recordings of some of my favorites as well as my full music list over on the "Repertoire" page, but if you don't see what you're looking for, I'm happy to learn your special song for your event.

I would describe my style as "classically elegant". I gravitate towards songs that have flowing arpeggios that add a romantic feel to every genre while staying true to the original song.

I typically reach out to couples 2 months ahead of their date, however, I'm happy to accept your selections earlier, especially if there is a song not on my repertoire that I will have to learn.

If I'm playing a cocktail hour or cocktail party, I will often play straight through. However, for events longer than 2 hours, I may take short 5-10 minute break to stretch, grab a glass of water, or use the restroom.
